Vít Horáček elected as member of the Arbitration Commision of the Czech Olympic Committee
Dr. Vít Horáček, partner and attorney at the law firm Glatzova & Co., was elected as a member of the Arbitration Commission of the Czech Olympic Committee on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at a plenary session of the Czech Olympic Committee in Prague.
The Arbitration Commission’s responsibilities include deciding on repeals and appeals against decisions of sport bodies regarding violation of anti-doping rules with respect to the Czech Doping Regulations and Sanctions in Sports. In addition, the Commission decides on repeals and appeals in cases based on regulations or other rules of a particular sport body.
Vít Horáček is a graduate of the Law Faculty of Charles University. He is fluent in a number of languages and is the author of a wide range of professional publications in the area of International Law and Arbitrations. He is an arbitror of the Arbitration Court attached to the Economic Chamber of the Czech Republic and Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic. In 2007, he was appointed as an arbitrator in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne.
