RES bill sent back to ministers

Ministers will discuss the new law on supported energy sources again, the Government instructed them at its meeting of August 8th 2010 in reaction to the outraged voices of the business community in the field of electricity production from renewable sources.

The Government of the Czech Republic, at its meeting in August 25, 2010, instructed ministers of industry and commerce, agriculture, environment and local development to re-discuss a bill on supported energy sources that has been widely discussed in the media.

As legal adviser of the group of entrepreneurs, who have openly criticized the bill, we consider this step a breakthrough in light of recent statements by the government. The government has accepted the arguments of entrepreneurs in renewable energy, acting with the support of professional associations. There is no doubt that the current system, managed by state, is too liberal and reform is needed. The goal of legislative changes should not be liquidate the industry, but to create a stable business environment and sustainable development for all renewable energy sources. It is necessary to find a solution that will benefit the environment, public, state and entrepreneurs.
