Petr Čech becomes the Glatzova & Co.’s Counsel
Glatzova & Co.’s 17th birthday brings the company an extra gift in the form of Petr Čech LL.M, who will become the firm’s Counsel starting 1 May.
"We have worked with Petr in the past, but now he is officially a permanent member of our team," says founding partner Vladimira Glatzova. "Petr remains active in the commercial law department at Charles University. In the coming months he will be devoted primarily to writing opinions and commentaries on several major laws on the transformation and trading of companies, which will replace the commercial code, as well as on the new civil code. Petr brings with him a vast amount of legal knowledge and authority, which our clients will definitely benefit from."
Mgr. Petr Cech, LL.M received his law degree from Charles University in Prague and subsequently completed his postgraduate studies of law at the University of Cologne. From 1999-2002 he served as director of the legislative and legal department of the securities commission and from 2001 to 2010 has been a presiding judge of the appellate committee of the Czech National Bank. From May 2004 to June 2006 he served as chairman of the exchange market, RM - SYSTEM, and from July 2006 to February 2010 served as assistant judge to Mgr. Ivana Štenglová (President of the Commercial Appeal No 29) of the Supreme Court. He has been an assistant professor in the department of commercial law at Charles University in Prague since 2002 and from 2006 to 2009 was also a member of the faculty senate. He has published numerous articles and lectured extensively on corporate law and business obligations.
