Our claim to fame...
In the summer of 2008, the Czech capital market witnessed the first competitive takeover bid. The investment group PPF and the largest European pharmaceutical company, sanofi-aventis, attempted to take over the Dutch company Zentiva, holding company of the Czech Republic’s largest generic drug manufacturer. As counsel to sanofi-aventis, Glatzova & Co. prepared this first ever takeover bid under Czech law of a foreign company listed simultaneously in Prague and London. The bid was the largest takeover bid in the Czech Republic in terms of value (EUR 1.3 billion).
