The new adjustments to connecting photovoltaic and wind power plants to the power system
The new adjustments to connecting to the distribution grid can avoid speculations with reservations of their capacity; say Lukáš Nývlt and Jakub Hájek, attorneys at Glatzova & Co., in their article published in the Weekly Ekonom’s special attachment about the energy industry.
Connecting photovoltaic and wind power plants to the power system reached an impasse in the last months, but the situation might be resolved by the new adjustments to the conditions for connecting to the distribution grid, which went into effect in April 1, 2010.
The new adjustments are more transparent in the way it sets deadlines for each phase of the connection process. However, investors remain ambivalent since the new rules set increased administrative demands and require greater financial means in the initial phases of a project when completion of the project is still uncertain.
