Glatzova & Co. once again ranked high in the newest issue of The Legal 500, which ranks the quality of legal services worldwide.
The new 2010 publication of The Legal 500 recommends Glatzova & Co.’s legal services in all of the ranked areas, including banking and financial law, mergers and acquisitions, disputes, real estates and TMT.
Banking, finance and capital markets
Glatzova & Co.’s banking practice is led by Dana Schweigelová and offers "great, flexible, hardworking experts" to its clients. There are five associates in the team, with Martin Dančišin elevated to the partnership in 2009. Clients include Komerční banka, Raiffeisenbank, Travelex Group, Commerzbank and HeidelbergCement Group. The firm advised Komerční banka on financial regulation and the implementation of the Payment Services Directive in 2009.
Corporate and M&A
Glatzova & Co. is a leading Czech firm with a strong reputation for both domestic and cross-border corporate work. The corporate and M&A practice is led by Vladimíra Glatzová alongside Jiří Sixta and also includes eight associates. Key clients in 2009 included Sanofi-Aventis, Suez Environnement, Itelligence AG, Henry Schin and International Automotive Components Group, with Vladimíra Glatzová leading a team working for Sanofi-Aventis on its €1.7bn offer for Zentiva, which closed in February 2009. Clients say the firm is "well-equipped with relevant knowledge and experience".
Dispute resolution
Glatzova & Co. has a ten-strong dispute resolution team that includes Vít Horáček and is led by senior associate Lukáš Nývlt. In 2009, Nývlt worked for GDF International in disputes concerning the compensation to be paid by the majority shareholder of Czech gas company TSOs in squeeze-outs.
Real estate and construction
Glatzova & Co. has a real estate practice of seven fee-earners that is led by Martin Dančišin and also includes Vít Horáček. In 2009, Dančišin worked for ECM Europe reviewing and amending the standard future purchase agreement and purchase agreement in respect of a residential unit to be developed in Prague, while Horáček advised clients Větrná energie Morava and WEB Větrná Energie in relation to the construction of wind power plants.
TMT
Glatzova & Co.’s Jindřich Jelínek leads the firm’s practices in both intellectual property and information technology, working for clients including Telekom Austria and Ysoft. Vít Horáček also handles intellectual property and IT work for clients like T-Mobile.
